The Airy-Disk Binary Star is a large mirror-based binocular viewing system for building large-aperture binocular telescopes.
Designed for telescopes from 120mm to 204mm and for systems as fast as f/5, the Binary Star is similar in concept and specifications to the Matsumoto EMS-UXL.
The system uses high-reflectivity dielectric mirrors and individual helical focusers. Internal threads allow filters to be installed inside the system and also help protect the mirrors against dust ingress.
Binary Star is available as a pair of mirror systems for DIY and custom bino projects. It is also used in our complete Airy-Disk 140 APO, 152 ED and 204 APO binocular telescope systems.
Product: Binary Star Bino Viewing System

Binary Star was developed for large binocular telescope projects using refractors from 130mm to 204mm aperture. The system can accommodate fast optical systems down to f/5.
Each side has an individual helical focuser for precise focusing. Internal threads allow filters to be installed inside the viewing system.
The enclosed construction helps protect the mirror surfaces against dust ingress during use and storage.
Binary Star can be purchased separately for custom and DIY binocular telescope builds.
Airy-Disk also uses the Binary Star in our complete 140 APO, 152 ED and 204 APO binocular telescope systems. Complete systems are available with carbon-fiber tripod, geared column and alt-az mounting, with Losmandy options for GoTo and other mounting configurations.
